The ballad Strange Meadowlark from the TIME OUT recording captivated me as a young boy. I knew I wanted to play jazz hearing Paul Desmond's solo on this beautiful tune. TIME OUT was released in 1959, the same year as GIANT STEPS, KIND OF BLUE, THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME (Ornette) and AH UM (Charles Mingus).
