The ballad "Strange Meadowlark" from the TIME OUT recording captivated our store's owner as a young boy. After hearing Paul Desmond's solo on this beautiful tune, he knew he wanted to play jazz. TIME OUT was released in 1959, the same year as GIANT STEPS (Coltrane), KIND OF BLUE (Miles), THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME (Ornette) and AH UM (Charles Mingus).
